Suvereto – the bright hilly amphitheater overlooking the sea in front of the island of Elba – is where Gualdo del Re cultivates about 27 hectares of vineyards surrounded by rolling hills.

Since the early 2000s, Barbara Tamburini is the enologist in charge of operations in the vineyard and in the cellar.

Precision, passion, determination, and experimentation are elements that characterize her work and that instill Gualdo del Re wines with a sophisticated yet proudly Tuscan soul.

The winery’s crus are the symbols of this distinct outlook. Noble and limited edition productions such as Cabraia, a Supertuscan made from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes; Gualdo del Re Sangiovese; and notably I’Rennero, made from 100% Merlot and winner of numerous national and international awards: the first Italian label to win the prestigious «Mondo Merlot» with five consecutive vintages, broadening the expression of excellent Tuscan winemaking.
